GO WHERE, to which 'not normal palces to go'? you mean like a house-league bantom game in the heart of Atlanta? to make sure everyone is givin' a fair shake? Hockey is expensive,. And no one goes anywhere unless they ,play at the highest level (AAA). For many areas in the US that means a Travel-team ; big bucks. Kudos to him for founding that hockey program in Wash, DC

the travel team here in phx is 30g a year,, 4 days a week practice, plus 1 game a week. also travel all over the state + country,, this league goes year round.
my nephews both play, but only in the rec league,, thats 3000 a year a piece,, they practice 1 day a week organized,, 1 or 2 Open skates a week (depends on what time of year as to the time) typically its 4am or 5am sat n suns,,, then 1 game a week,,
super difficult to break into this sport without more support from the city. Having said that??? who gets into the 30g travel team? lol,,,
